First off, these CDs contain precompiled packages as well as the source code. 
Second, after searchng for the ports in /usr/ports/distfiles, it will search 
for them at /cdrom/ports/distfiles.

Far from being useless, CDs 3 and 4 are very useful things to have, and very 
easy to use.
