And given that the fix is 74c7ff1a0e940 from current and that 15.0 and newer don't appear to suffer from it (see comment #21)in all likelihood it is fixed. It's probably safe to close this PR (it can always be reopened). And I'll clean up the files I uploaded to ee.lbl.gov.
