It just occurred to me that Apple must be encountering this problem with OS-X. To whatever extent it is possible to configure the daemons that they inherited from BSD with their GUI and NetInfo services, anyway. I don't own a Mac, so I don't know how well they're doing with this. Anyone have more info/experience? How close is NetInfo to LDAP, conceptually, in the sense of distributed database thingies?
