From both a UNIX and DOS/Windows perspective I would highly recommend using
a US Robotics.  If you have plenty of time on your hands and feel like
tinkering with initialization strings then a generic modem is for you.  If
you have more important things to be spending your time on than it is worth
the extra money to buy a USR.

Hey guys ; what is a good externel modem to buy for FreeBSD i can be sure
will work without problems? I have been told U. S. Robotics is good but i
