Hello, Sometimes when I access the CD-ROM drive to play an audio CD using xcdplayer, the music starts but everything else stops, with a total freeze-up only reset can cure. Any ideas? Thanks, -Archie Output of dmesg: FreeBSD 2.0.5-RELEASE #0: Mon Jul 31 03:37:56 PDT 1995 root@phil.tribe.com:/usr/src/sys/compile/PHIIL_586 CPU: 100-MHz Pentium 815\\100 (Pentium-class CPU) Origin = "GenuineIntel" Id = 0x525 Stepping=5 Features=0x1bf<FPU,VME,PSE,MCE,CX8,APIC> real memory = 16384000 (4000 pages) avail memory = 15089664 (3684 pages) Probing for devices on the ISA bus: sc0 at 0x60-0x6f irq 1 on motherboard sc0: VGA color <16 virtual consoles, flags=0x0> ed1 at 0x300-0x31f irq 5 on isa ed1: address 00:00:e8:c9:44:3d, type NE2000 (16 bit) sio0 at 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4 on isa sio0: type 16550A sio1 at 0x2f8-0x2ff irq 3 on isa sio1: type 16550A fdc0 at 0x3f0-0x3f7 irq 6 drq 2 on isa fdc0: NEC 72065B fd0: 1.44MB 3.5in wdc0 not found at 0x1f0 bt0: Bt946C/ 0-PCI/EISA/VLB(32bit) bus bt0: reading board settings, busmastering, int=10 bt0: version 4.25J, async only, parity, 32 mbxs, 32 ccbs bt0: targ 0 async bt0: Enabling Round robin scheme bt0 at 0x330 irq 10 on isa bt0 waiting for scsi devices to settle (bt0:0:0): "QUANTUM FIREBALL1080S 1Q04" type 0 fixed SCSI 2 sd0(bt0:0:0): Direct-Access 1042MB (2134305 512 byte sectors) (bt0:4:0): "CHINON CD-ROM CDS-535 Q20" type 5 removable SCSI 2 cd0(bt0:4:0): CD-ROM cd present.[327278 x 2048 byte records] npx0 on motherboard npx0: INT 16 interface gus0 at 0x220 irq 11 drq 1 on isa gus0: <Gravis UltraSound 3.7 (256k)> Probing for devices on the pci0 bus: configuration mode 1 allows 32 devices. pci0:0: vendor=0x1039, device=0x406, class=bridge [not supported] pci0:1: vendor=0x1039, device=0x8, class=bridge [not supported] vga0 <VGA-compatible display device> rev 1 on pci0:10 pci0:12: vendor=0x104b, device=0x1040, class=storage [not supported] map(10): io(e800) pci0:13: vendor=0x1095, device=0x640, class=storage [not supported] pci0: uses 8388608 bytes of memory from fb000000 upto fb7fffff. changing root device to sd0a WARNING: / was not properly dismounted. _______________________________________________________________________________ Archie L.
