Hello, I am trying to install FreeBSD 5.2-CURRENT (snapshot 20040202 from snapshots.jp.freebsd.org). I was able to install it choosing Safe Mode from the boot menu, but after that whenever I try to boot it (with, without acpi, safe mode) it panics with the following (copied by hand): Memory modified after free 0xc45a7e00(508) val 1000100 @ 0xc45a7e00 Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode cpuid = 0; apic id = 00 fault virtual address = 0x1000120 fault code = supervisor read, page not present instruction pointer = 08:0xc071c0aa stack pointer = 0x10:0xd8633984 frame pointer = 0x10:0xd86339a0 code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0 current process = 54 (init) kernel: type 12 trap, code=0 Stopped at mtrash_ctor+0x3a: movi 0x20(%eax),%eax I have browsed the archives and found the bit about setting ht.pci.allow_unsupported_io_range="1". I have set it via the loader, but the same panic happens. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated -tacho
