The delay goes away if I remove firewire > from the kernel. I don't have anything to plug into the port anyway. Maybe it is the SCSI subsystem waiting to probe for SCSI-over-Firewire devices? Do you have the sbp, scbus, etc, devices in your kernel? Scott
