The mailserver for this list, hub,freebsd.org, is set to reject email
from mailservers that don't announce themselves to it with an
Internet-routeable domain name.  That is why emails from me appear to
come from a machine called ntl.com.

Yours seems to come from labs.unixhideout.com, which should be ok.
Perhaps the email they don't get through are from a mailserver that
doesn't HELO with a routeable name?  Are you using a different mailserver
sometimes?
