According to Ernie Elu: > I just noticed an error in either newfs ot it's man page. > It says in the paragraph that discribes the -i option that the default for > newfs is 1 inode per 2048 bytes, in fact it seems to be one inode per 4096 > bytes. I just ran out of inodes on my news server and I noticed the error. It should be written as: The default is to an inode for 4 (four) times the size of a fragment in bytes. That is, on a 4 KB/512 bytes FS, the default is to create an inode for each 2 KB of data and one for each 4 KB for a 8 KB/1KB FS. -- Ollivier ROBERT -=- The daemon is FREE! -=- roberto@keltia.freenix.fr FreeBSD keltia.freenix.fr 2.2-CURRENT #18: Sun Aug 18 19:16:52 MET DST 1996
