Hi, a niche use case I ran into: if you need to use a proxy to access the internet, you need to export the proxy in a shell and start bsdinstall by hand.[1] It would be nice if this could be done inside the installer. Since this happened some time ago, I might be misremembering this, but I think that you notice only relatively late in the process if your internet connection isn't working. It might be nice to have a "test whether I can download the necessary stuff" button as early as possible.
