I have to say, with all the BIOS-related irritations I have
seen people report, I'm happy that the two systems I use at
the moment have Award BIOSes.  I'm sure they have their 
problems, too, but, I haven't noticed it.

Sounds like a good reason to use an NCR/Symbios controller.
I've used an old 53c810-based ASUS for some time off and on
with no problems.  Do the newer controllers (e.g. 875-based)
seem to work well out there?  Is tagged queueing working
(totally) on the 53c8xx-based controllers?
