In this edition, I'd like to take the time to review more on "extended warranties and service plans". Now, there are some of you out there who feel the stinging taboo from some waylay episode involving the "extended warranty" and it's, most likely, useless principalities. However, there are very few places you can go without getting offered that little slip of paper that offers you promise and protection "so you can sleep at night". HOWEVER!!!! There is some good in today's market place where consumer awareness and brand image is everything. Manufactures, insurance companies, and third party solutions providers have joined efforts to create affordable and desirable service packages for you. Now keep in mind, I was always told you buy a warranty on mechanical machines and service, well, everything else. Now this isn't the rule, it's just a common generality that works well when you think about its implication. It's very unlikely your computer will suffer traumatic damage while running a spin cycle of disks for cleaning. Though it may suffer heat damage from an improperly installed fan or failed fan. I know this is splitting hairs, but yes, somewhere there is still a fine line. Warranty plans and coverage will very often cover many of the things consumer find important; parts, Labor, damage, component failure under warranty, etc. It's usually a very short and to-the-point list with very explicit yeses and no's to what the warranty covers. Warranty plans are usually rather inexpensive and can be done from the comfort of home, which is a moot point, but a BIG selling tip for most consumers. It's the "here, take it home and think about it approach." If you decide you want the warranty, you sign up from home. However, the service after the sale may leave you feeling a little disparaged as often times has been the case in the past. Extended warranty plans, when read in full, are just convenient extension to the manufactures existing warranty. "What's wrong with that?" you ask. The fact is, most extended warranty packages are referred to as a warranty multiplier. If your labor is covered for 90 days, and your extension is three times that period, you have 180 days. Since the warranty can be utilized to cover individual components you may be left holding the bill on certain components not covered by the manufactures warranty. SIMPLY THE BEST home based business opportunity. If you have access to a computer then you can earn $500 - $1500 P/T or $5000+ F/T per month. Full training provided with our complete home business solution. Log on to http://www.successconverter.com <http://www.successconverter.com/> Or call toll free 1-888-224-6292 No matter, enter the service plan. Service plans have come under recent fire over the recent months, for being "just another warranty" program. Now, I am not a fan of warranties or service plans, but there are times when I will buy them. Service Protection Programs, as most retailers call them, are often times an insurance program. There are several distinct advantages to this, but there are the pitfalls that come along also. Service Programs, Product Service Plans, Service Maintenance Agreements; they all serve the same goals and share several common features. They all override the manufacturer warranty in most cases, offer additional "scheduled maintenance" as required", and more often than not cover all components installed on the item at time of purchase, regardless of manufacturer. Service programs are actually an insurance product. The key benefits here include third party protection. If your store goes out of business, your product is still covered. Service Plans cover maintenance, cleanings, testing, routine checkup, etc. There are a lot of problems that can be avoided through routine maintenance and cleaning, however it tends to be expensive. Most service plans cover it free of charge. Service plans sometimes offer a "no lemon" clause. Look into each one before buying; they all tend to be different. Service Plans are underwritten, warranty plans are usually not. Warranty plans are inexpensive and do offer satisfaction in limited coverage, while service plan cost is based on product cost, making some very expensive. Service plans cover things that even home owners insurance does not cover. Shop around before you buy. There are plenty of third party alternatives to buy service or warranty programs from more affordably. Often times, these third party insurers will cover custom built machines as long as the builder provided at least 30 days. Again, there are many differences in different plans from different retailers. The key fact is you must do your home work.
