I haven't tracked down the problem yet, but my Philips CDR2600 works only under wormcontrol/dd, not under cdrecord... locks up either the drive or the SCSI bus, depending on the number of crickets in the apartment. I don't have time or knowledge to port our worm driver, but would like to know if somebody else is doing it.
