make jobs are irrelevant.  The post-patch is failing and then the
do-configure bombs.

It only happens about 3 in 1000.  I've been unable to duplicate it
myself since I 1st saw it.  QAT has had it happen a total of 3 times
ever.  I've only ever see exactly 1 user report this.

I'm open to suggestions.
