If this is a regression relative to 14.1, then the problem is likely differ=
ent
from the original bug report.  It's possibly a regression from one of these

Ken, do you have any idea what might be going on here?

I also wonder if the original bug is still reproducible after those two
commits?  That is, do we still panic on boot on the latest stable/13 or
stable/14?
