There were definite problems with these, and as such, they were specially distinguished by having 66 printed on top. What is your FSB running at? These chips (the very early 300s) can not handle >66MHz, and I've had a K6-2 0x580 go _completely_ bad easily. For peace of mind, even if it's not the problem (which it very well could be), I'd upgrade to a later revision. You can get one of these relatively cheap: CPU: AMD-K6(tm) 3D processor (350.81-MHz 586-class CPU) Origin = "AuthenticAMD" Id = 0x58c Stepping = 12 Features=0x8021bf<FPU,VME,DE,PSE,TSC,MSR,MCE,CX8,PGE,MMX> AMD Features=0x80000800<SYSCALL,3DNow!> > > Stephen > -- Brian Fundakowski Feldman / "Any sufficiently advanced bug is \ green@FreeBSD.org | indistinguishable from a feature." | FreeBSD: The Power to Serve! \ -- Rich Kulawiec / To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-current" in the body of the message
