Lynx comes pre-installed with BSDI BSD/OS (as well as a number other tools, like 'elm', etc.). However, for every feature that BSD/OS has, FreeBSD has three more. Not having a web browser in FreeBSD seems as gaping a hole as not having an FTP client.
