There is a paragraph about required package bhyve-firmware [1]

"To make use of the UEFI support in bhyve, first obtain the UEFI 
firmware images. This can be done by installing sysutils/bhyve-firmware 
port or package."

And as it can be seen in the Makefile [2], it will install 
sysutils/edk2@bhyve as a dependency
