I am pleased to be able to announce 1.4.2 patchset 5. This patchset should be suitable for most applications. The JDK it produces is de facto compliant, if you recompile Open Motif with the included patches. Use in a production environment is still at your own risk. The main highlight of this release is obviously the update to 1.4.2. However there are a number of other fixes including: 1. Fixes to external process execution. 2. Fixes to the sound code, particularly in regards to recording. 3. Fixes to the IPv6 code. 4. Fixes for Drag and Drop support (with the Open Motif patch) 5. Improved NetBSD support. 6. Support for JavaWS. Thanks again to all the hard work by the BSD Java Porting Team, particularly Alexey Zelkin, and to the FreeBSD Foundation for their continued support. The patchset can, as usual, be downloaded from http://www.eyesbeyond.com/freebsddom/java/jdk14.html -- Greg Lewis Email : glewis@eyesbeyond.com Eyes Beyond Web : http://www.eyesbeyond.com Information Technology FreeBSD : glewis@FreeBSD.org
