You ask an impossible question. Comparing operating systems is a difficult task at best, and is only harder when looking at similar systems. Both are excellent, I think. Likely one of them is better than the=20 other, if for only the reason that it is unlikely that they could be equa= l. More importantly however , the individual administrator is the most=20 mportant part of the security equation--a misadministered OpenBSD system might be a very easy target, just as a properly cared for FreeBSD=20 system be rock solid. I would read about the two, and try both. Read about them, and at some point you will find that you prefer one of them to the other, possibly because of the culture of the mailing list, or FAQs that seem best suited to helping you. It really should be your decision, determini= ng what to use. No matter what you choose, pay close attention to changes and security updates. No matter what you use, you will lose if you are lax about keeping up with current developments. --STeve Andre' On Saturday 02 February 2002 03:27 pm, Jean-Yves Lefort wrote: > Hi all, > > Is OpenBSD more secure than FreeBSD (I don't mean "out of the box", but > after a complete security audit leading to an optimal configuration of = the > system). > > Regards, > Jean-Yves Lefort To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
