I am aware that mod_jk itself is supposed to work for both Tomcat 3 and 4. However, the point I was trying to make is that the PORT (located in /usr/ports/www/mod_jk) ONLY works for Tomcat 3 which is why I'm having to go through all this to get a working module for Tomcat 4.
