I entirely agree it is a stack hog, but people have demonstrated in the past that there are a lot of other functions in the kernel that are a lot worse. Even the old TTY code had a 384 buffer on stack and nobody cared about it for 20 years. I wouldn't have a problem disabling it again after we've branched stable/8, but I think we should at least let people test it and see whether we can get it into the release. --=20 Ed Schouten <ed@80386.nl> WWW: http://80386.nl/ --XV2oFgeyH+4vHrAu Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (FreeBSD) iEYEARECAAYFAko1c8YACgkQ52SDGA2eCwWLkgCeMVy1I8fqef5NiUzZjifxyF9t CvkAnjC9rSOjolGpr0Q1x+qwiXFYjieu =w23J -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --XV2oFgeyH+4vHrAu--
