After some investigation about the fact that the drive didn't
report 80Mb/s, and someone pointing out that it should do that
with my config, after a while i figured out the
drive wasn't correctly jumpered. ;-()

Factory default is LVD mode, but mine was jumpered Single Ended.

So I had a SE drive on a Ultra2 LVD cable, work ok , but I
guessed the drive complained ones in a while with the msgs as result.

After jumpering it right the facts at bootup are correct for the first time
in 3 months ;-) 

Strange though that after doubling the data transfer rate from 40 -> 80Mb/s
iozone 100 doesn't reports any increase of speed.
