I'm trying to install freeBSD on my new 400 Mhz pII DELL computer. The install hangs with a solid cursor in the bottom left of the screen. This happens after the probes complete. I'm not able to see the last line of the probe since the screen is blanked. I encounter the same problem when booting from the CDROM directly. I don't have this problem with my 486 machine or my DELL machine at work. Is there any way to halt the installation process to see what's happening at the end of the probe step? It seems obvious that its a hardware compatibility problem but without being able to see where the problem happens, I'm unable to resolve it.
