Asus a7a-133 Athlon XP 1900+ Matrox G400 Hauppauge WinTV radio Ensoniq audiopci FreeBSD 4.6.2 XFree86 4.2.0 Fxtv 1.03 I just bought a Hauppague WinTV radio and was trying to get it running on FreeBSD. I got vidio and sound working when I use -disableDirectV. If I don't use that setting I get video for a several seconds then the computer freezes up completely. The video that i get has some blocky distortion also. I had a similar problem when using 3d on linux. It would work for a random number of seconds then freeze up the computer. I assume both of these problems have to do with memory corruption. Is there any way to fix this problem or should I just stick to -disableDirectV? I'm not sure if this is because I configured something incorrectly or if its a hardware problem. I'm going to post my XF86Config, dmesg, kernel configuration, and fxtv -debug startup. thanks, Corey Holcomb-Hockin ---XF86Config Section "ServerLayout" Identifier "Layout0" Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0 InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard" InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer" EndSection Section "Files" EndSection Section "Module" Load "xie" Load "pex5" Load "glx" # Load "dri" Load "dbe" Load "record" Load "extmod" Load "type1" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Mouse0" Driver "mouse" Option "Protocol" "MouseSystems" Option "Device" "/dev/sysmouse" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Keyboard0" Driver "keyboard" Option "XkbModel" "pc101" Option "XkbLayout" "us" EndSection Section "Monitor" Identifier "Monitor0" HorizSync 31.5 - 82.0 VertRefresh 40.0 - 150.0 EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "Card0" Driver "mga" ChipSet "mgag400" Card "Matrox MGA G200 PCI (mgag400)" EndSection Section "Screen" Identifier "Screen0" Device "Card0" Monitor "Monitor0" DefaultDepth 16 SubSection "Display" Depth 16 Modes "1024x768" # Modes "640x480" EndSubSection EndSection ----dmesg Copyright (c) 1992-2002 The FreeBSD Project.
