(cc:'d to ports, where this probaly belongs.) BitchX is the best 'graphical' in the ansi sense, though ircII-epic can have color to a certain degree and is more commonly accepted. The big difference is a lot of things that you have to add as a script to epic are built in to bX. I don't know about X11 clients as I don't run X.
