Similar issue here too. Clean load of 9.x/10.x/11-CURRENT on new ASUS MB with
default factory settings boots fine on ufs, but get btx halted with root on
zfs. After tweaking some BIOS settings, 10.2-RELEASE and 11-CURRENT (20151130)
both successfully boot with zfs on root. After updating 10.2-RELEASE to 10.2-p7
and rebooting we are back to btx halted again and no amount of BIOS tweaking
seems to help. Not sure if this is relevant but using an Avago/LSI HBA with
7x2TB drives and RAIDZ3.

amvandemore@gmail.com, can you elaborate on what you mean by "force importing
elsewhere" that seems to have fixed the issue for you?
