In case someone has one of those babies: the SCSI controller that doesn't like bus rescans is mpt(4). When devd(8) requests a bus rescan, connection with the disks is lost and if you happen to have / on one of those disks you can imagine how that affects the performance of your boot process :-) Anyone with a bit of mpt(4) foo is welcomed to take a look at this. -- Marcel Moolenaar USPA: A-39004 marcel@xcllnt.net
