Using 4.2-BETA on this box still, tftp and tftpd work as advertised.

Don't forget that tftpd lingers a few minutes after it was started from
inetd.

Also, /tftpboot, or whatever directory you use needs to be created mode
777.
Also, when you want to download a file to your tftpd server you have to
touch the file first and then you can download it.
