I remember seeing a patch floating by that implements bass/treble and
rear-channel for emu10k1:

The patch is from december 2001 and doesn't apply cleanly anymore. I
tried to bring it up to date once, but when I was finished and rebooted,
the kernel crashed. I stopped there.
