            Bug ID: 255294
Summary: augment if_tuntap man page on source of autogenerated
                    MAC (/etc/hostid)
           Product: Base System
           Version: CURRENT
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: conf
          Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: pi@FreeBSD.org

ifconfig tap0 creates a tap0 device with a seemingly random MAC. The MAC co=
mes
from /etc/hostid -- if somehow the /etc/hostid was cloned during multiple
instances, the MAC will be the same, which will cause trouble in VPNs.
