I thought we had this problem fixed a long time ago: brgphy0: <BCM5704 10/100/1000baseTX PHY> PHY 1 on miibus1 [...] bge0: link state changed to DOWN bge0: no link .....bge0: link state changed to UP got link DHCPREQUEST on bge0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 DHCPREQUEST on bge0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 DHCPDISCOVER on bge0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 5 DHCPDISCOVER on bge0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 13 DHCPDISCOVER on bge0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 20 DHCPDISCOVER on bge0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 14 DHCPDISCOVER on bge0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 9 No DHCPOFFERS received. Unless and until a (broadcast) packet is received, the bge interface does not work. If I trigger a broadcast on the network while dhclient is running, it jumps into action and starts working. -- Poul-Henning Kamp | UNIX since Zilog Zeus 3.20 phk@FreeBSD.ORG | TCP/IP since RFC 956 FreeBSD committer | BSD since 4.3-tahoe Never attribute to malice what can adequately be explained by incompetence.
