I've tested RC3, and here's what I've found. On a standard install: 1. I've selected all of the X servers and when it comes to extract the X distribution, an error pops up similar to: Unable to transfer Servers/X3DL Try to retrieve again? Yes No The "Yes" option does not work at all, when hitting enter or space, the screen just stays. "No" works fine. A number of the X servers pop up with this error. X3DL X8514 XAGX XI128 XMa8 XMa64 XMono XP9K XS3 XS3V XSVGA XVG16 XW32 2. sshd is mentioned as "SSHd", but this has been recently changed. 3. The message: "Do you want to configure inetd and simple internet services?" leads me to believe I will be configuring other internet services, perhaps it would be better reworded: "Do you want to configure inetd and the internet services it invokes?" 4. For some reason, moused completely goes haywire on my machine. (It worked on 4.3-R) When enabling it (PS2, Intellimouse) the screen goes haywire. On the debug screen, psmintr: out of sync (0000 != 0008) appears repeatedly. This happens when trying to invoke moused manually after the system has been installed as well. I'm not sure if there have been any recent changes to moused/psm drive to be causing this. 5. And lastly, when configuring a NIC, it no longer asks to configure via IPv6/DHCP. On a side note, the enter/spacebar logic has slightly changed. I'm used to just hitting an enter a second time when the Distributions screen pops up. Now, you must scroll up to Exit and hit enter. Doing what I did before results in sysinstall asking to install the ports tree however many times you do it wrong. - chern To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-qa" in the body of the message
