(ie, out of ifconfig.) the fact ifconfig isn't saying MANUAL for roam is a big red flag to me. One of the things wpa supplicant does when it's running correctly is literally do /that/. So did bz/cy change the wpa supplicant API between 13.0 and 13.1?
