On top of that, for some reason, there's been some strange behavior when mounting virtual disks if there are more than two of them. When the virtual machine starts up, disks 2 and 3 are mounted in one order, but when rebooting from within the virtual machine, they're mounted in a different order. In other words, the system detects the devices in the wrong order right from the start during the initial boot.
