DNS is part of the base system. You activate it by
supplying an appropriate namedflags in /etc/(sysconfig|rc.conf)

The default namedflags expect to find your named.boot in /etc/namedb
where you will find a skeleton file to get you started and a
script, make-localhost, to create your named.local. Add your
forward and reverse zone files and you're done.
