I have filed a bug report about problems with Virtualbox 5.1.26 r117224: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=221294 Summary: cannot create a Windows 7 VM with Virtualbox 5.1.26 (FreeBSD 11.[01]) A VM can be created with VirtualBox 4.3.38 (FreeBSD 10.3) But Wait! There are more! I am using FreeBSD 11.0 as a host system. I have created some FreeBSD 11.1 VMs with no problem. However, after installing the virtualbox-ose-additions-5.1.26 the mouse sharing (?) does not work. It does work with the Windows VMs, even when they have an old additions. Also, when you try to shut down the Windows VM, it will go through the shutdown procedure and then hang with a blank screen displayed. IF you do not have a share open then it almost always, but not always, will shut down. I tried installing the latest versions of the additions but this did not make any difference. -- Patrick Powell Astart Technologies papowell@astart.com 1530 Jamacha Rd, Suite X Network and System San Diego, CA 92019 Consulting Cell 858-518-7581 FAX 858-751-2435 Web: papowell at astart dot com
