I am going to have a firewall/gateway and all the hosts behind it will be on their own subnets and the firewall will be doing the internal routing. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Matthew Emmerton" <matt@gsicomp.on.ca> To: "Mike Grissom" <mikeyg@igalaxy.net>; <freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG> Sent: Wednesday, October 09, 2002 2:28 PM Subject: Re: Ifconfig > > > > I was wondering if ifconfig will let you add aliases with different > netmasks > > cause I noticed that ifconfig enforces netmask 255.255.255.255 for > aliases. > > Does this only apply if the ips are on the same network? > > If network = subnet, then yes. > > -- > Matt Emmerton > > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
