Another data point: HP Omnibook 6000, Maestro3, 4.4-PRERELEASE
from early August (and before that too), snd_maestro3.ko works
fine before an apm suspend, but is silent after a resume.
I haven't tried a kldunload in a few months, but when I did,
it crashed the machine.

In an earlier FreeBSD versions (4.3?) Darrell Anderson's maestro3
driver worked just fine, but it doesn't compile with the current
kernel sound routines (last time I tried anyway).

I'd be happy to provide additional debugging help if anyone who
more kernel and device clue than I is interested in looking
into this.

Thanks!

John

| The same occurs on an Inspiron 8100 under 4.4-RC2, with the additional
| oddity that the speakers blast a high whine until the module is unloaded -
| I haven't suspended/wakened the laptop consecutively enough to see whether
| it stopped unloading, but we share the same problem.
