Have you tried manually configuring the card? Some NICS under XP need to have the "Zero Wireless Configuration" service disabled to function properly. -Tony }-----Original Message----- }From: owner-freebsd-mobile@FreeBSD.ORG }[mailto:owner-freebsd-mobile@FreeBSD.ORG] On Behalf Of Nick Sayer }Sent: Tuesday, May 28, 2002 10:15 AM }To: mobile@FreeBSD.ORG }Subject: More hostap problems } } }Machine 1: FreeBSD desktop machine with an MA401 in hostap mode. } }Machine 2: FreeBSD laptop machine with an MA401 in client mode } }Machine 3: Windows XP machine with a Dell branded Orinoco gold card } }Machine 4: Windows XP machine with an MA401 (actually, machine }2 booted }into the other partition). } }Machines 1, 2 and 3 all talk to each other just fine. } }Machine 4 refuses to associate with machine 1. You need to use their stupid little }configurator and the card looks to XP like an 802.3 card. }Maybe this has }something to do with it? Machine 4 used to work with a }standalone access }point, however, so there must be some sort of compatibility issue with }hostap mode...? } } } }To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org }with "unsubscribe freebsd-mobile" in the body of the message } To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-mobile" in the body of the message
