I'm the guy who started this whole thread, and I couldn't agree with you more. The status quo is fine, and I just wanted to make sure that there was at least one good reason for it. The good reason I've heard so far is that the manual pages should not be installed as part of the kernel installation, and I'm certainly content with that argument for the moment. This is not a pressing issue, and I don't think we lose anything by dropping the argument and getting on with things that actually benefit the project. :-) Ciao, Sheldon.
