I had crossed some wires earlier on in our discussion. We do have a SAS 2008 chip in the system already, but it's not the one that's running the external disk boxes (and we are having no problem with those drives). The external disk boxes (the ones that are having the problems) are connect through an LSI SAS 3801E, which is handled by the mpt driver. The mpt driver is what's giving us trouble right now. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Tim Gustafson tjg@soe.ucsc.edu Baskin School of Engineering 831-459-5354 UC Santa Cruz Baskin Engineering 317B -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
