Depends on what you mean by "support"...  As for binary compatibility, I
can't say -- haven't tried it.  If you're compiling from source, forget
the version numbers - it all depends on exactly what you need, especially
when it comes to glibc.  FreeBSD (even 3.x) has had support for a long
time for some of the functions that are "new" to recent versions of glibc.
