Umm, finally getting to this....managed to fire up the 4100 here. If I disable probing other than isp0, and turn off the E/D debug printfs, I was able to boot the 2 host 4100. As a side note (of some horror), 4.2 also has problems with > 1 Qlogic card involved- things panic after probing about 12 disks often (hard to repeat, and attempts to track down where are difficult as ddb blows up, etc.- *I* think that this is a boot issue (again)).
