Not really. It walks the object tree cleaning subdirs, but this will miss certain steps of the build which do not have an associated cleaning step. Anyway in practice, removing the whole object tree tends to make the build faster than cleaning the old one. The 'cleandir' steps are to make sure that no build junk has crept into the /usr/src tree. The 'build(world|kernel)' targets deliberately never touch /usr/src. -- Crist J.
