Anyone know if this might be the source of the crash?

I turned softupdates off on the disk pack which is a CCD pack, and it hasn't
crashed again (this was HIGHLY repeatable before).

If it is, this is fixable in our implementation; I could copy the data off
the CCD pack onto a twice-the-size disk which would remove the need for the
CCD partition, and turn softupdates back on.
