Both directory name and resulting package name matter. You still need a way=
 to
disambiguate whether the DTrace flavour is used or not at each (flavoured)
Python package port, because otherwise the dependency lands squarely on the
default flavour, which is not DTtrace-enabled. This is where changes in the
framework became intrusive without much benefit compared to simply offering
DTrace as an additional option.
