I have one of these modems (a Sportster VI), and am dialing into a set
of Ascend terminal servers (which have built in modems or something, I
can't remember), and only have a problem of the line being dropped if
I'm idle for too long (iijppp's idle timout). Apart from that it works
fine (there are occasions where line noise (I think) cause it to fail
to negotiate a 28k8 link, but that's expected)
