It seems that FreeBSD lags behind Linux when it comes to supporting
the newest PC workstation hardware, but only by a little, and that's
changing for our benefit, I believe.

Thanks to our wonderful Linux "emulation," we can run almost any
Linux program, including all those nice multimedia apps, like l3enc
and midi2cs that Heiko mentioned.  You'd have to ask someone more
knowledgable than I if you want to know the limitations of the Linux
emu, though.
