FWIW, I've spent large chunks of today doing battle with make(1), and a commit to come will see a new Makefile for doc/en/handbook which handles building and installing the Handbook in multiple versions, and immediate support for .gz, .bz2, and .zip compression formats. > The various archive formats (gz, zip etc.) should be only distributed > at the FTP server.
